NR Electric Germany Project: Three 40 ft Containerized MV Switchgear and Control Modules
Scroll down to learn more
Project Overview
NR Electric commissioned ETENZ to manufacture and integrate three 40 ft containerized electrical modules for a renewable-energy project in Germany. Each module houses a medium-voltage line-up together with the protection and control panels that serve it, and had to arrive on site as a finished, tested unit rather than as an enclosure to be fitted out locally. The modules are built on high-cube ISO container shells with corner castings and CSC plating retained, which keeps them shippable under ordinary container handling rather than as project cargo. Each finished module has a gross mass of 24 t against a 9.7 t tare.

Service Scope
Enclosure manufacture and complete electrical integration
ETENZ manufactured the container-based enclosures and carried out the full electrical integration: equipment installation and interconnection, auxiliary AC and DC distribution, lighting and emergency lighting, HVAC and forced ventilation, earthing, the cable basement and bottom cable entries, and factory testing before export packing.

Engineering & Integration Points
Finished modules, not empty shells
Switchgear, protection and control panels and the auxiliary systems were installed, interconnected and function-tested in the ETENZ works, so each module left the factory as a complete unit ready for connection on site.
Primary and secondary systems in one envelope
Each module carries the medium-voltage line-up — incoming and outgoing feeder cabinets with 630 A circuit breakers, busbar and filter outlet cabinets, reactance and capacitor cabinets — alongside the transformer protection and control panels and the DC and AC auxiliary distribution.
Raised access floor over a cable basement
The floor is built as a structural cable basement closed with removable anti-slip covers. Every cubicle is fed from below, and the cable route stays accessible without disturbing the equipment standing on it.
Built to be entered and serviced
Full-height equipment access doors run along both elevations, with a personnel door, internal partitions and an observation window, forced inter-compartment ventilation, wall-mounted air conditioning, emergency exit signage and emergency lighting.

Delivery Value
Three finished, factory-tested electrical modules reached a German renewable-energy site as containers, with the switchgear, protection and control panels and auxiliary systems already installed and interconnected.
Project Value
The project gave NR Electric a container-based module that ships under standard container handling while carrying a complete medium-voltage and control scope, and gave ETENZ a repeatable build standard for European delivery.
