E-House FAT Checklist: Solve Site Problems Before Shipping

The real value of an E-House factory acceptance test is finding mismatches between drawings, manufacturing, equipment, interfaces and documents before the module leaves the factory. Closing them at source is usually faster than cutting new openings, rerouting cables, sourcing missing parts or waiting for clarification at site.

ETENZ treats FAT as a delivery-state review. The question is not only whether the enclosure has been built, but whether contracted scope, approved documents, physical condition, test records and open items tell the same story. A project-specific checklist produces a more useful release decision.

Start with acceptance scope, not a list of tests

Enclosure-only, interface-ready, auxiliary-system prefit and fully integrated E-Houses require different FAT depth. Equipment-supply responsibility, energization conditions and connections left for site all change the inspection content and acceptance basis.

An effective FAT plan starts with the contract, responsibility matrix, interface schedule and acceptance criteria. Each item is marked for factory inspection, factory test, document review or site completion, preventing a generic form from hiding project differences.

Create one acceptance baseline from controlled documents

Confirm the current general arrangement, equipment layout, door and opening schedule, system drawings, cable and terminal schedules, grounding plan, auxiliary drawings, equipment list and change log. Every position, tag and interface on the physical module should trace back to an approved revision.

Revision mismatch is one of the most valuable FAT findings. Comparing drawings, BOM, nameplates, labels and hardware on the same baseline closes many low-cost but high-impact differences before packing.

Inspect the enclosure for installation, maintenance and transport

Depending on scope, checks may cover dimensions, doors and hardware, equipment foundations, maintenance access, cable routes, sealing, drainage, finish, grounding, lifting points and transport preparation. The purpose is not a photo walkdown; it is confirming that the details support operation and site connection.

Conclusions on structural loads, coating thickness or protection ratings should be backed by project drawings, calculations, specifications and inspection records. ETENZ can organize enclosure checks, dimensional records, interface schedules and handover files as one evidence package.

Mark equipment and interfaces as complete or site work

Where equipment installation or interface prefabrication is included, verify equipment identity and location, fixing, inter-panel connections, external cable entries, terminal tags, grounding, communications, monitoring and fire-system interfaces. Customer-supplied equipment needs especially clear responsibility.

Status labels such as installed, wired, reserved, removed for transport, reinstated at site or site-completed can become the field connection list directly. FAT is the handoff between factory condition and site tasks.

Match auxiliary-system tests to actual scope and conditions

Lighting, auxiliary power, HVAC or ventilation, dehumidification, environmental monitoring, fire, security and alarms can receive visual, wiring, signal or functional checks according to scope. Energization, interlock, alarm and simulation tests need agreed power, loads, signal sources, methods and criteria.

FAT should neither skip checks that are ready nor present a component test as proof of complete module performance. Recording what was verified, what was not and where the remaining verification occurs makes the handover more credible.

Finish FAT with a closable delivery list

A complete output typically includes signed check sheets, test and measurement records, photographs, punch lists, owners, target dates, correction evidence and document status. Finding an issue is manageable; leaving it without ownership, timing and closure evidence is what disrupts delivery.

Items that cannot be tested in the factory should be listed as site scope with required conditions and interface data. FAT then produces an executable shipping-release and site-connection map, not a vague statement that everything passed.
