Project Overview

Mining & IndustryFeatured Case

The Julong Copper Mine sits in a high-altitude mining district on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and is one of China's largest copper mines. As its phase-2 expansion advanced, the site needed to deploy high-power variable-frequency drive equipment in the field under demanding conditions: an altitude of roughly 5300 m, continuous power-distribution operation, and the packaged delivery of large equipment. The high-voltage VFD equipment for the project is supplied by TMEIC, and ETENZ manufactured and delivered the prefabricated enclosure shell that houses it. Working to the equipment layout, maintenance access, and on-site installation boundary, ETENZ completed the structural forming and interface reservations of the ultra-long enclosure shell in the factory, so the equipment could be positioned quickly at the high-altitude site.

Service Scope

HV VFD E-House Shell Manufacturing and Interface Provisioning

ETENZ is responsible for the enclosure-shell manufacturing of the ultra-long VFD E-House, including structural forming, doors and maintenance access, ventilation and cooling openings, and interface reservations for fire protection, lighting, and other auxiliary systems, along with detailing the equipment-installation boundary and coordinating factory delivery. The technical design, system performance, and on-site commissioning of the VFD units themselves remain the responsibility of the equipment supplier and project parties within their contractual scope.

Engineering & Integration Points

Built for the 5300 m High-Altitude Environment

A high-altitude mining site places higher demands on enclosure sealing, protection, ventilation and cooling, and maintenance access. During shell manufacturing, ETENZ advanced the structural and interface fit to the equipment drawings and installation boundary, establishing a stable basis for moving the VFD units into the enclosure and installing them on site.

Single-Piece Forming of the Ultra-Long Enclosure Shell

To house rows of VFD and control cabinets, the enclosure adopts an ultra-long structure. ETENZ completed the shell around the cabinet layout, maintenance clearances, door operation, and air-duct openings, so the structure, installation interfaces, and service access match the integration needs of the equipment.

Coordinated Cooling and Auxiliary-System Interfaces

High-power VFD operation generates concentrated heat, so the enclosure must reserve interfaces for fans, air conditioning, fire protection, lighting, and emergency maintenance. ETENZ planned these interfaces together during shell manufacturing, reducing rework and on-site coordination after the equipment is moved into the enclosure.

Factory Prefabrication Linked to On-Site Delivery

Shell prefabrication, exterior forming, interface verification, and loading for delivery are concentrated at the factory, moving more preparation ahead of on-site installation. This suits engineering environments like high-altitude mining sites, where work windows are limited and coordination costs are high.

Delivery Value

The project created a delivery benchmark for ultra-long VFD E-House shells serving large high-altitude mines. ETENZ completed the overall coordination of enclosure structure, exterior, interfaces, and maintenance access at the factory, providing a reliable enclosure platform for the on-site integration and delivery of high-voltage VFD equipment.

Project Value

The value of this project lies not in a single enclosure, but in converging the demanding conditions of a high-altitude mining site, the equipment-layout requirements, and the on-site delivery boundary into a prefabricated enclosure-shell platform that can be inspected, transported, and installed, all ahead of time. By focusing on shell manufacturing and interface provisioning, with a clear division of work alongside the equipment supplier, ETENZ helps high-voltage VFD equipment reach the Julong Copper Mine site faster and more reliably.
