Product Details

UniSafe-12 is 12 kV air-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear with a 42/75 kV rated insulation level, 630-2500 A on the main busbar, branch busbar and branch connectors, 31.5 kA short-time withstand current for 4 s, 80 kA peak withstand current, and a basic cubicle envelope of 2160 x 600(750/1000) x 1550 mm. Cubicle width is selected between 600, 750 and 1000 mm by functional unit, and ETENZ fixes the line-up composition and cable entry direction against the project single-line diagram.

UniSafe-12 MV switchgear

MDmax ST is rated 690/1000 V AC and 1500 V DC for insulation, 400/690 V AC and 750 V DC for operation, with a 6/8/12 kV rated impulse withstand voltage. The main busbar carries 6300 A with 100 kA short-time withstand for 1 s and 220 kA peak; the distribution busbar carries 2000 A, 80 kA and 176 kA; degree of protection is IP54. Functional units are available as withdrawable, removable and plug-in types, and the drawer construction takes up to 36 circuits in one cubicle.

BlokSeT is rated 380/690 V for operation, 660/1000 V for insulation and 50/60 Hz. The main busbar carries up to 6300 A with short-time withstand up to 100 kA for 1 s and peak withstand up to 220 kA; the distribution busbar reaches 2000 A, 80 kA and 176 kA; enclosure protection is IP30-IP54, with 20 mm clearance and creepage distance of at least 12.5 mm. Line-ups combine power distribution centre, motor control centre and reactive compensation sections.

The MDrail-E type designation reads in three parts: construction (S wall box, G floor cabinet), duty (L lighting, P power, A dual-source transfer, M motor starting and control, D digital, R precision row-head panel, H medical IT) and door type (01 metal, 02 glazed, 03 double-leaf). Wall boxes are rated 250/400 A with 10 kA/1 s short-time withstand, floor cabinets 630 A with 20 kA/1 s, protection reaches IP65, and the range is built to GB 7251.1, GB 7251.12 and the IEC 61439 series.

Read what the specification says. Where the technical specification names an ABB or Schneider platform, or the owner spare-parts regime is already tied to one component brand, an authorized platform is the answer; where the specification only sets voltage, current and short-circuit level, generic cubicle types usually give more selection room and shorter lead times. ETENZ builds both — send the single-line diagram and the specification wording and we will set the two options side by side.

Not on an authorized platform — the component set is fixed by the authorization: UniSafe-12, MDmax ST and MDrail-E are built with ABB components and BlokSeT with Schneider components, which is precisely what choosing an authorized platform means. Where a project needs breakers and relays specified freely by brand, a generic cubicle type such as the KYN series is the route, and its component platform is agreed at technical-agreement stage.

Four things at minimum: the single-line diagram, system voltage and rated current, short-circuit capacity, and the clause in the project specification that names the platform or component brand — the last one decides which product line applies. For a contract-grade quotation, add the circuit schedule and busbar arrangement, protection and metering requirements, control supply and communication interfaces, installation environment, and the standards and document list for the destination market.

Both are 12 kV metal-enclosed switchgear. UniSafe-12 runs on the ABB authorized platform, with cubicle structure and component range set by the platform, 630-2500 A rated current and 31.5 kA short-time withstand for 4 s. The KYN series is a generic withdrawable metal-clad type covering up to 40.5 kV, configurable to 50 kA short-time withstand, from 550 mm cubicle width, with the component platform agreed per project. Specifications naming the ABB platform take the former; everything else converges on the latter by rating and bay dimensions.

Both reach 6300 A on the main busbar with 100 kA short-time withstand for 1 s and 220 kA peak; the difference is the licensor and the functional units. MDmax ST is the ABB platform, with withdrawable, removable and plug-in functional units and up to 36 circuits in one drawer cubicle at IP54. BlokSeT is the Schneider platform, with IP30-IP54 enclosure protection and line-ups combining power distribution centre, motor control centre and reactive compensation sections. Whichever the specification names is the one to take.

Current rating and installation position draw it. MDrail-E covers final power distribution and control boxes — 250/400 A wall boxes and 630 A floor cabinets installed on a floor, in a workshop or beside equipment. MDmax ST and BlokSeT are main distribution line-ups with busbars up to 6300 A installed in a low-voltage switchroom. Most projects carry both levels, and the split between switchroom outgoing feeders and floor-level boxes is fixed at drawing approval.

Yes. Switchgear is supplied as equipment while an MV switchgear E-House or other power module is supplied as an enclosure — the first is the panel itself, the second covers the enclosure, equipment layout, auxiliary systems and interface integration. Authorized-platform line-ups install inside a module just as well, with line-up arrangement, busbar bridge and in-module interfaces detailed by ETENZ, and the delivery boundary settled once at contract stage.

Standard documents travelling with the panels are the approved project drawings, component list, wiring records and packing list. Inspection records are issued to the scope agreed in the order technical agreement; where witnessed tests or a specific report format are needed, raise it during quotation and technical clarification so test and witness slots can be arranged. Platform authorization documents are provided at technical clarification stage as the project requires.
