Coolant Filling Machine for Liquid-Cooled BESS (40 / 50 L/min)

For BESS integrators and liquid-cooling O&M teams — a built-in vacuum pump clears the air first, and one machine handles first fills and top-ups.

Vacuum then fill

The vacuum pump and the filling pump sit in one machine: connect the hoses, evacuate the loop, then fill it, with no separate vacuum pump to bring to site.

Product Details

The job runs in two steps. First the vacuum pump draws the air out of the cooling loop through the 8 mm vacuum port; it is rated 150 W, with a pumping speed of 3.6 m³/h and an ultimate vacuum of 10 Pa. Then the filling pump delivers coolant into the loop through the NW22 filling connector, at up to 15 m head on both the 40 L/min box unit and the 50 L/min trolley. How long evacuation takes depends on the loop volume and the vacuum level required.

Filling machine operation: the vacuum pump evacuates the cooling loop, then the filling pump delivers coolant into it

Step 1 evacuates the loop, step 2 fills it

Both models use the same connections: an NW22 male filling connector and an 8 mm vacuum port. Where the filling or vacuum port on the loop differs, an adapter is needed, so give the loop connection sizes with the enquiry. Power is single-phase 220 V ±15%, 50/60 Hz; the 40 L/min box unit draws 400 W and the 50 L/min trolley 300 W, with a further 150 W for the vacuum pump.

The box unit weighs about 9 kg, delivers up to 40 L/min at a maximum head of 15 m and is small enough for one person to carry. Its vacuum pump matches the trolley's, at 150 W, 3.6 m³/h pumping speed and 10 Pa ultimate vacuum, and it has the same NW22 male filling connector.

The cooling loops of BESS containers, battery cabinets and liquid-cooled compute enclosures take coolant at three points: the first fill before shipment or after arrival on site; a top-up in service when system pressure drops or the level runs low; and a refill once the old coolant has been drained at the end of its change interval.

Product FAQs

No. This machine fills the coolant loop of a liquid-cooled energy storage system or compute enclosure. Electrolyte filling machines work on cell production lines, injecting electrolyte into battery cells, and coolant bottling fillers, which pack coolant into containers for sale, are another type of machine.

Evacuating first removes the air from the loop before any coolant goes in. Both models have their own vacuum pump, so evacuation and filling are done on the same machine.

Head and connections are the same; the difference is format and flow. The trolley rolls on castors and suits batch filling in the workshop or at a storage site, while the lighter box unit is easier to take to scattered sites for top-ups. The 40 and 50 in the model names refer to maximum flow in L/min, not to a tank volume.

It is set up for the coolant used in the storage system's liquid-cooling loop, most often a 50% ethylene glycol and water mixture. Name any other fluid in the enquiry so the machine's suitability for that medium can be confirmed.

If the filling or vacuum port on the loop differs from the machine's, an adapter is needed; include the loop connection sizes in the enquiry.

A single-phase AC supply: the single-phase service socket of a workshop or storage site is enough. Voltage, frequency and power are listed in the specification table.

Yes, for the first fill and top-ups of a compute enclosure's cooling loop. Include the loop's filling port size, the coolant type and the height of the filling point in the enquiry.

The use (first fill at the factory or top-ups on site), the filling and vacuum port sizes on the loop, the coolant type, the height of the filling point above the machine, the power supply available, the quantity, and whether the machine ships with a liquid-cooled BESS enclosure or cooling unit.
