End-Wall BESS Chiller (30–80 kW)

For BESS container integrators and enclosure builders: four 30–80 kW end-wall sizes share one width, so upsizing keeps the same opening width.

Product Features

One opening width

All four sizes share the same width, so the enclosure end wall is designed around one opening width; the three sizes from 40 kW up share the opening height as well.

Product Details

Overall dimensions, width × height × depth: 1200 × 2000 × 440 mm for the 30 kW unit, 1200 × 2400 × 440 mm for 40 and 60 kW, and 1200 × 2400 × 500 mm for 80 kW. The end-wall opening is reinforced to the unit outline and sealed against water ingress, and ETENZ details it on the enclosure drawings. On the inside, the supply and return headers, the auxiliary power circuit and the RS485 cabling run to the battery-rack manifolds and the BMS. The gap between the rack ends and the end wall allows for how far the unit projects into the enclosure plus the space needed for service.

COP is 2.0 on all four sizes, with rated power input of 14.9, 19.8, 29.5 and 40 kW. Above 45 °C ambient the unit keeps running up to 55 °C, and capacity in that band is calculated for the project duty. In cold weather the unit heats the coolant: 12 kW on the 30 kW unit, 16 kW on the 40 kW unit and 24 kW each on the 60 and 80 kW units, down to a minimum ambient of -30 °C. The 30 to 60 kW sizes use R410A refrigerant; the 80 kW unit uses R32.

This version is not built into a wall: it stands on the floor, measures 980 × 2100 × 630 mm, weighs about 410 kg and carries two large fans on the front, one above the other. It delivers 45 kW of cooling (18 °C leaving fluid, 45 °C ambient) at an overall COP of 2.0, and 16 kW of heating that can be tailored per project. Noise is no more than 80 dB(A) and the refrigerant is R410A; IPX5 protection and C3 corrosion protection match the other four sizes.

End-wall units face their fans toward the outside of the enclosure, so the area directly in front needs airflow and service clearance. Where enclosures sit end to end, the units are normally staggered or spaced apart so that the hot air discharged by one is not drawn into the next. Noise is no more than 80 dB(A) for the 30–60 kW sizes and 85 dB(A) for the 80 kW unit; on sites near offices or the property line, unit orientation is decided together with the enclosure layout.

Product FAQs

Start from the battery system's heat load. All four sizes are rated at 45 °C ambient and 18 °C leaving fluid, so they compare directly. Then check the site's highest and lowest temperatures, whether a liquid-cooled PCS shares the enclosure, and the clear height of the end wall and the free space at the enclosure end. The heat load comes from the battery system supplier, based on the C-rate and the heat generated by the cells.

It is the cooling source: the unit supplies coolant at the set leaving temperature straight to the battery pack cold plates, with no separate chiller or cooling tower. The cold plates inside the packs, the enclosure headers and the rack manifolds sit outside the unit's scope; manifolds and quick couplings can be supplied with the project.

Automatic refill for this series is confirmed per project, so state the requirement in your inquiry. First fill, air purging and top-up after service can be handled with a coolant filling unit for liquid-cooled storage.

Horizontal units are flat and are usually built into C&I storage cabinets, mostly at up to 13 kW. Vertical units are tall and narrow, fit the end wall of a storage container and cover 30–80 kW. For C&I cabinets, look at cabinet liquid cooling units; for containers, choose this series or a rooftop unit.

An end-wall unit sits in an opening in the end wall, adds no roof load and leaves the enclosure height unchanged. A rooftop unit sits on the roof and leaves both the end wall and the interior free, and its dual-loop version can feed the PCS as well. Where the end wall has to carry a door or service access, or the PCS is liquid-cooled too, the rooftop unit is worth a look.

Yes. Cooling capacity is rated at 45 °C ambient in the first place, and in cold weather the unit heats the coolant; heating on the 30 kW, 40 kW and 45 kW units can also be tailored per project.

C3 is standard; C4 or C5 can be specified for coastal, chemical-plant or high-salt-spray sites.

The unit communicates over RS485 with a CAN port reserved, and the point list for the BMS is agreed per project.

It can be assessed as the cooling source for a liquid-cooled compute enclosure. Capacity is rated at 18 °C leaving fluid and 45 °C ambient; for IT equipment, selection follows the supply temperature the servers require, the heat load and the redundancy requirement. Where the servers accept a higher supply temperature and the local climate suits free cooling, a dry cooler is often the better fit.

The battery system's heat load, whether a liquid-cooled PCS shares the enclosure, the required supply temperature, the site's highest and lowest temperatures and its altitude, the power supply (three-phase 380 V, 50 or 60 Hz), the communication protocol, the corrosion class, the quantity, and whether the units are supplied on their own or integrated with the storage enclosure.
