Product Features

Closed-loop cooling

Only the cabinet's own air circulates through the unit, so outdoor dust, moisture and salt mist stay outside.

Product Details

The unit sits in the cabinet wall. On the inside face is the evaporator duct: cabinet air is drawn in, cooled and returned to the cabinet, at 170 to 850 m³/h across the five ratings. On the outside face is the condenser duct, where ambient air passes over the condenser and carries the heat away. The two ducts are separated inside the unit, and the refrigerant is R134a. Aim the cold-air outlet at the batteries or electrical equipment that produce the heat, and keep the space in front of the return inlet clear.

Each rating mounts in a cut-out in the cabinet wall: the 600 W unit measures 352 × 582 × 170 mm and weighs about 14 kg, the 3 kW unit 550 × 1350 × 250 mm and about 60 kg. Cut-out dimensions and the requirements for reinforcing and sealing its edge come with the unit; when the unit goes into an ETENZ enclosure, ETENZ draws them into the enclosure drawings.

When the cabinet temperature falls below its set point, the unit switches to heating: rated heating is 500 W for the 600 W unit, 1000 W for the 1000 W and 1500 W units, and 2000 W for the 2000 W and 3000 W units. The whole unit is rated for -30 to +55 °C ambient. The start and stop temperatures for cooling and heating are set at commissioning to suit the working temperature range of the equipment inside. Cabinets with high internal humidity add a BESS cabinet dehumidifier to control moisture.

Size the unit on the total heat load in the cabinet: the heat from the equipment inside plus the solar and ambient heat that enters through the cabinet walls, with a margin added, matched against the five rated cooling capacities of 600, 1000, 1500, 2000 and 3000 W. Rated power input across the range is 330–1110 W, and every rating runs on single-phase 220 V ±15%, 50/60 Hz. Noise rises with the rating from 59 dB(A) to 70 dB(A), worth factoring in for outdoor cabinets near offices or homes. Standard corrosion protection is C3; coastal and chemical sites can specify C4 or C5.

Product FAQs

This series is built for outdoor battery storage cabinets: it runs across a wide ambient range, includes heating, has a high ingress protection rating, and its RS485 communication (with provision for CAN) connects to the cabinet BMS. The temperature range and protection rating are in the specification table.

Mounted in the cabinet wall, its inside duct draws cabinet air across the evaporator and returns it cooled, while its outside duct passes ambient air over the condenser to carry the heat away; the two ducts are kept separate. When the cabinet gets too cold, the unit switches to heating.

The start and stop points for cooling and heating are set at commissioning to match the working temperature of the equipment inside. When the unit connects to the BMS or a site monitoring system, the communication point list is agreed per project.

Yes. The rating is chosen from the cabinet's heat output, the local climate and the available power supply.

Yes. For coastal, salt-mist or chemical environments the corrosion protection can be upgraded; the standard and optional classes are listed in the specification table, so mention it when you request a quote.

Cabinet humidity depends on how well the cabinet is sealed and on the local climate. Where it runs high, a BESS cabinet dehumidifier can be installed in the cabinet alongside the air conditioner.

The heat output of the equipment in the cabinet, the cabinet size and material, where the unit will be mounted, the highest and lowest ambient temperatures on site, the supply voltage, the communication protocol, any corrosion requirements, the quantity, and whether the unit is supplied on its own or integrated with the cabinet.
